Learning Area: Literacy
Learning Observed
Today after Ekamjot had completed her writing she asked if she could share it with me. Together we sat as she read me her story. I observed how Ekamjot had listened to the sounds she could hear in the words and had attempted them even when she wasn’t sure. She was displaying her ability to hear the dominant sounds in the words and had correctly begun her sentence with a capital letter and ended it with a full stop. Ekamjot and I talked about what she could do next to help with her writing. Together we identified that a focus was needed on letter size. I asked if she would like to practice some letters until packing up time, to which she eagerly replied ‘Yes!’. Together we discussed which letters she needed most practice of and I wrote them in green to help guide her.
